Thursday, May 24th. Madrid-Sevilla. This was our last train ride for this 96-day trip and we weren’t so lucky this time. It was a 2.5-hour train ride to Sevilla and we only had two seats. The wheelchair space was available in coach 7 but there were no seats next to it so we weren’t able to use it.
We put Arthur to sleep just before we left, but he woke up right after we went through security. Thankfully, he was fine being left in the car seat as we walked to the platform and got on the train. But this caused his sleeping schedule to be thrown off a bit. He was due to sleep again 2 hours after he wakes up.
Anyway, the train journey there was straightforward.

We were able to store our backpacks and the stroller in the luggage compartment at the end of the carriage. When we took Arthur out of the car seat about 15 minutes into the journey, we placed the car seat in between our seats and the seats right behind us as the two rows were facing a different direction.
Arthur got really cranky only 1.5 hours into the train ride, but he did not want to go to sleep. We’ve already fed him and changed his diaper, and he was still not happy with just being seated. He wanted to walk around. He is starting to get bored very easily.
He did sleep 2 hours into the journey, but this meant he would easily wake 30 minutes later as we got off the train. Sure enough, he woke up just as we approached the train station. He was pretty chill after that, though. We kept him in the car seat as we made our way out of the station and to the pickup point for the mytaxi app. And when we got into the car, he also didn’t mind sitting in the car seat all the way to our Airbnb. I had to distract him as we got closer to our destination, but at least he didn’t scream.
Once we got off the car, we walked a block to our Airbnb. As usual, the owner met us, showed us around, and gave us the key. Then we unpacked and went to the grocery store.
The streets here in the Santa Cruz neighborhood are quite small. Just outside our Airbnb apartment, there was not enough space for a car and a stroller. We had to wait until the car has passed or the car had to wait for us to clear the block. Theoretically, pedestrians have the right of way, but a car is pretty intimidating.
There are tons of small streets like this around the neighborhood, so we would have to be careful.
Outside the supermarket, there was taiyaki ice cream. After we got our grocery, we couldn’t help but treat ourselves to some ice cream.

Then we head home, put Arthur to sleep and watched a couple of movies.
