The health preparation

Arthur had his first round of vaccinations on February 9th. The doctor said the next round would have to be between 6-8 weeks from then. Ideally, 8 weeks, he said. We will be in Vienna in the beginning of April, so Arthur will get his second round of vaccinations there.

Traveling with a little one makes us more cautious than usual. Our days of backpacking, hosteling, and winging it are gone. I mean, we still have the backpacks, but we now need to have everything planned out. Not necessarily what activities we would do everyday, but at least we have the accommodations and transportations all worked out. We will mostly stay in Airbnbs because of our need for washer and dryer, and we’ve also worked out the bus and train timetables to give us enough time to get to and from the stations to our accommodations. Most importantly, we looked at various hospitals and/or pediatricians in each city at which we’re staying just in case we need any medical assistance for Arthur.

Below is the list of countries we’ll visit (and the cities and hospitals). In addition to these countries, we will also do a “day-trip” to Andorra, San Marino, and the Vatican.

So, I suppose these will give Arthur 20 countries instead of the 19 I originally calculated. Shout out to Leanne for letting me know that Andorra is a country. It is only a 3-hour bus ride away from Barcelona.

This trip will add four more countries to my list and fifteen to Sean’s list.

Tomorrow morning our journey begins!
